Every summer my entire life I've been lucky enough to live at the beach in Charlestown, RI. The child of two teachers, I lived a double life growing up. School year life in landlocked Western Massachusetts and summer life in the beautiful Ocean State (I live for those three months out of the year!)! As a teenager I fell in love with my summer job as a surf lifeguard and in love with my first skimboard. Skimming and life saving became my obsessions. It feels good, and feeling good is good enough.
My parents are awesome but they both grew up modest and landlocked. Not being a tradtional sport, it was hard for them to understand how much skimboarding influenced my life and never supported it. I don't blame them but even today they just don't get it or view skimming as a sport. As a teen it was difficult to finance my skim passion. I skimmed mostly on local breaks with old beat up boards and never skimmed competitively. Through my early twenties I was preoccupied with finishing college and almost fell out of skimboarding entirely.
It wasn’t until I finally got the job I always wanted (firefighter-paramedic) when I started skimming again. Once again my passionate obsession for skimboarding took a foothold in my life. I could finace new boards and travel for the first time in my life. Last summer I hit up several skimUSA events, skimming competitively for the first time at the age of 26 (Old School)! I LOVE SKIMBOARDING! It’s the only thing I think about and all I want to do. I thrive to make personal progression and excel at the sport I love. I love to skim new places and meet people that are stoked on skim!

Hey hey whats up haven't heard from you for a while. Let alone anyone on here. Kind of lonely and sad :'(
Anyways, thanks I've been working really hard on making new pieces of art and also a artist rave exhibit party here in my hometown cause it really sucks here! No fun at all! Hope everything is great on your side of the island lol.
Yeah Dewey was fun. The skim scene out there is huge! lol. Thanks again for showing me around and whatever. Because we changed my flight idk if my mom will let me come back for the rest of the summer. So I guess i'm just gonna go to summer school. Then in August I have to start filming for the football season. But hit me up with the dates you're gonna be out here or on Maui, I forgot what you said.
I know. Super kraZ that I canceled my trip out there b4 I even knew. My intuition felt it long b4 I made reservations but I am going to Cali. I will be taking a road trip up the coast to start illustrating my 1st children's book then skimming Santa Cruz. My book is about a young Hawaiian monk seal who learns how to skimboard. I plan to publish it by the end of this year!
Sorry man I don't check this thing very often, Alley-Oop, yeah I wanted to go on that cabo trip but I'm headed out to Cali for the VIC and that's all I can afford right now. Not sure if I'm going home to CT this summer but I might so I'll hit you up...Hawaii Shh, you watched it? lol I looked soo dumb in that video lol. It was fun though. What'd you think of it?
